Betsy Hall Bender is experienced and accomplished at defending employers against employment-related claims and lawsuits. She also works with her clients to develop policies, strategies and procedures for preventing these types of claims from arising. Simply put, Betsy Hall Bender’s goal is to solve whatever workplace problems you may have. 

She has extensive experience in assisting employers in drafting employee handbooks and manuals, as well as policies and procedures governing such areas as drug testing, background checks, pre-employment testing, harassment, non-competition agreements and protection of trade secrets. She counsels and advises employers in the training of their managers and supervisors in the implementation of those policies and procedures. She also advises employers on employee hiring, discipline and counseling, as well as employee layoffs and terminations, employee compensation and benefits issues, accommodation issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act, unemployment compensation claims, severance agreements, retaliation claims, and compliance with the myriad of employment laws that affect employers. 

The firm also represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, arbitration and mediation, including covenants not to compete, claims of wrongful termination, claims of sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, Workers' Compensation retaliation claims, and other state discrimination statutes.
